MJD Mechanical geothermal installation FAQ

How should I compare costs?

Answer:

The most important aspect of comparing costs is to be sure to compare what is listed in the quote.
M.J.D. Mechanical residential quotes generally include everything you will need for a complete heating system.

This includes:
-excavation
-geothermal loop field
-pump pack (pumps fluid through field)
-geothermal ground source heat pump
-domestic water storage tank
-distribution system (radiant in-floor or duct system)
-thermostats and control wiring
-piping, valves, etc...
-floor registers & return air grills

Some things to remember when comparing costs:

Most geothermal systems provide heating, air conditioning and domestic hot water. In order to accurately compare costs with a conventional system, the conventional system quote should include everything for a complete heating system. Some of these should be:
-Air conditioning
-Domestic hot water tank
-'B' vent (in the case of gas furnace/boiler)
